Registration Process for 2017-2018

We conduct an in-house registration for our current and alumni families first. Registration packets will be distributed in the student’s bags by mid January.   Alumni families can print a registration form here.  All in-house registration forms are due before noon on January 23, 2017.

bullet-arrow-blue-001 New Families Registration

Remaining spaces will be given out to new families by lottery. Anyone wishing to participate in the lottery must turn in a registration form and a non-refundable registration fee for each child before 12 noon on January 25, 2017.  We will inform you of your child’s placement by email.  The registration fee is non-refundable and will only be returned if your child is not offered placement at VPC Preschool. If we cannot place your child in a class, we will place him/her on the wait list and return your registration fee.

The lottery is conducted by the Preschool Director and the Assistant Director. New family registration forms are pulled randomly and assigned to classes as requested on the registration forms. Classes are filled based on maintaining desirable boy/girl ratios and siblings are placed at the time the first sibling is drawn in the lottery.

All registrations submitted after the lottery deadline of 1-25-17, will be placed on a first-come, first-served basis.  Please contact the preschool office to inquire about current openings and wait list options.  

If Fairfax County Public Schools are closed or have a two-hour delay, the deadline for participation in the lottery will be 12 noon on the next business day that Fairfax County Public Schools open on time.

If a specific program is full at the time of registration, you may elect to get on our waitlist. We often have significant movement after registration and many families on our waitlist will have a space by the time school starts in the Fall. We will continue to register new families throughout the Spring and Summer until the school is full.

 

Tours and Information Sessions

We begin conducting tours in December. Each session will give an overview of the school, a tour of the school in session, and a time for questions and answers. You are welcome to bring your children with you. If you would like to attend an information session, please come to the preschool at a time and day below. You do not need to reserve a space. We will make room for you.

Tours for the 2017-2018 School Year:

  • Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at 10am – Rescheduled to December 15, 2016
  • Thursday, December 15, 2016 at 10am
  • Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at 10am
  • Thursday, January 12, 2017 at 10am
  • Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at 10am

In the event of a FCPS snow day or two hour delay, the tour will be cancelled. Please come on another scheduled date or contact us to arrange a time to visit.
