I grew up in Fairfax County and attended UVA where I earned a BS in Commerce. After college, I worked for IBM for 10 years.  I was a stay at home mom,  church & school volunteer and elementary substitute teacher with FCPS for seven years.  I joined VPC Preschool in 2009 as a Finance Assistant, served as Assistant Director for 9 years and have been Director since August 2020.

Gwynne Corridon

PreK Lead Teacher (Frogs Class)

This is my 16th year teaching preschool at VPCP.  I grew up in Fairfax County, and graduated from Oakton High School.  I have a BS in Early Childhood Education from JMU, and also many hours toward a Master’s Degree in Reading Development. I taught Kindergarten, Second, and Third grade in Reston and Herndon before staying home for a while with our three daughters.

 

Meghan Kelly

PreK Assistant Teacher (Bears Class)

I enjoyed moving around the world as a child in an Army family.  I have a bachelor’s degree in English from Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia.  My husband Ian and I met in Northern Virginia and moved from Ashburn to Vienna in 2016.  I can’t imagine a better place to raise our family.  After nearly 15 years working in government contracting, I became a stay-at-home mother to my three children.  This is my first year as an assistant teacher at VPCP and I’m excited to be working with your children!

Danielle Sarver

Instructional Coordinator

This is my second year at VPCP and I am excited to be a part of this wonderful school! I graduated from Elizabethtown College in Pennsylvania with a B.S. in Elementary and Special Education. Over the last twelve years, I have taught and served in various educational roles in several programs. I have worked with students of all age groups and I value the early education years immensely. I am passionate about supporting our youngest learners and bringing joy to education from the start.

Lauren Leonard

Lead PreK Teacher (Bears Class)

I am very excited to be starting my second year at VPCP! I spent almost 10 years at home raising my children. Before that, I taught Preschool Special Education in FCPS for 9 years and Kindergarten in Munich, Germany.  I received a Masters in Early Childhood Education from George Mason University.

PreK Assistant Teacher (Frogs Class)

I hold a B.A. from the University of Utah and also attended the Air Force Communications School.  I was an Air Force Communications Officer for 4 years and a high school and middle school math teacher for 5 years.  This will be my 15th year teaching preschool.

Sandy Hogge

3s Lead Teacher (Dragonflies Class)

This is my seventh year at VPC preschool. After serving as an assistant in the Dragonfly class for two years, I moved to the lead teacher role and enjoy every minute of it.

I have a degree in Elementary Education from The College of William and Mary and taught first grade for a number of years. Prior to coming to VPCP, I worked for seven years as an assistant in the FCPS preschool program at Vienna Elementary School working with 2, 3, and 4 year olds.  I have been a member and volunteer at VPC for over thirty years.

3s Assistant Teacher (Dragonflies Class)

This is my fifth year as the Dragonflies Assistant Teacher at VPCP.  I was previously an Assistant Teacher for the Frogs class (2003-2006),  the Starfish class (2007-2008), and the Butterflies class (2017-2018).  I graduated from University of Maryland College Park where I earned a BS from the College of Business and Management.  I have volunteered with the Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and schools around Vienna as a GRACE Art coordinator, Hands-on-Science instructor, and Homework Club coordinator.

2.5 Lead Teacher (Turtles Class)

I am from Ransom, Kentucky  and I graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with a degree in Art Education.  

I have taught in the preschool setting for over 20 years.  I have been teaching the 2.5 year old class at VPCP since 2004.  I am excited to be able to work with such a wonderful group of people at VPCP and have the opportunity to engage with young minds!

Hayley Keeter

2.5 Assistant Teacher (Turtles Class)

This will be my sixth year in the Turtles Class. Previously, I have served at VPCP as a substitute teacher, lunch bunch helper and room mum.

I grew up in England and attended Worcester College of Higher Education, where I earned a B.Ed. Honors Degree. I taught in schools for 11 years in Oxfordshire, England including 6 months at Special Education School before moving to the USA.

Laura Freeman

3s Lead Teacher (Ladybugs Class)

This is my 18th year at VPCP.  I have taught and assisted with 2s, 3s and PreK.

I have a BA in History from High Point University.   With VPCP I have attended several NAEYC conferences as well as other seminars learning so much about teaching young children. I love working with young children and making learning fun. Their joy and sense of discovery make everything new and exciting.

Brenda Klimavicz

3s Assistant Teacher (Ladybugs Class)

I am excited to start my 12th year at VPC Preschool. I hold a BS from Rochester Institute of Technology. My first career was in the printing and publishing field. I’ve taught at two other preschools, and also worked as an elementary school librarian. Teaching preschool and being a mom are the two most rewarding jobs of my life. My interests include digital illustration, writing and illustrating children’s books.
